ข้าวลูก
Origin
Kao Luk is an OTOP product originating from Saraburi Province, initially developed through experiments producing rice liquor from local white sticky rice. Rooted in creative thinking to boost community economy, it draws inspiration from traditional rice wine but features a modernized recipe designed to appeal to general consumers.
Characteristics and Taste
It has a clear, clean appearance with a delicate aroma of rice and hints of oak from aging in wooden barrels. The flavor is well-balanced—slightly sweet, moderately spicy, and finishes with a lingering aftertaste on the tongue. Its alcohol content is approximately 40%.
Ingredients
White sticky rice, clean water, industrial yeast, and oak barrels (for aging).
Serving Method
Serve cold over ice cubes, or mix into cocktails such as the "Kao Luk Sour." Also pairs well with crispy fried foods or smoked meats.
