แลมบิกเบียร์

Origin

Lambic Beer is a traditional Belgian beer originating from the wooded region of Lambiek near Brussels, with a brewing history spanning over 600 years. Produced using natural fermentation involving wild yeast and bacteria present in the air, this gives the beer its distinctive flavor profile. Recently, it has started gaining popularity in Thailand, especially in international restaurants and high-end beer bars.

Characteristics and Flavor

It ranges in color from pale yellow to golden amber, with fine bubbles. It features a fragrant aroma reminiscent of fermented fruits such as apples or strawberries. The taste is sharply tart, lightly bitter, and naturally astringent, with some varieties exhibiting a slight sweetness due to extended aging.

Ingredients

Primary ingredients include barley, wheat, water, natural yeast, hops, and sometimes fresh fruits such as blueberries or cherries are added.

Serving Method

Serve chilled in a tall beer glass. Sip slowly to fully appreciate its complex flavors. Pairs excellently with seafood or hard cheeses.
