ข้าวเหนียวตับติม
Origin
Khao Niao Tub Tim is a traditional Lao-style dish from northern Thailand, especially popular in Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son provinces. Influenced by Lao culture, it has been adapted to suit Thai palates. Made by steaming black sticky rice with brown sugar until sticky and thick, then mixed with marinated pork liver fried with spices.
Characteristics and Flavor
Khao Niao Tub Tim forms dense, chewy black sticky rice balls coated with dark brown pork liver. It offers a rich, savory-sweet taste from sugar and coconut milk, enhanced by aromatic spices such as garlic, pepper, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves.
